At Leetchi, our mission is to make dreams come true and enable our 23 million users to express their generosity in complete security!
In order to put generosity within reach, we have to check all the money pots hosted on our platform: this is our role as a regulated intermediary in participative financing*.
As part of these verifications, we may request documents to make sure that:
👉 The use of the funds is in line with the call for donations
👉 The funds will go to the right person
🤔 What does this mean for you?
🪪 To ensure that contributors donations always end up in the right hands, we need to verify the identity of the money pot organiser. That's why we ask you to add your ID, to spend your money pot (Add an ID to my account).
📄 At the same time, depending on the project, we may also need to check the identity of the beneficiary and ask you for additional supporting documents (e.g. quotes, invoices) to ensure that the money raised is used in accordance with the call for donations.
💡 Documents must be in French or English. For all other languages, we accept documents translated by a certified translator.
⚖️ Do we have the right to ask you for these documents?
In accordance with the law and with articles 8.2 and 11 of our Terms and Conditions, our services may ask any creator of a money pot on our platform to provide supporting documents. The execution of a transfer will then only be possible once these documents have been provided.
What happens if you don't send the documents?
In the event that the organiser of the money pot is unwilling or unable to provide supporting documents after a request from our services, and the expenditure cannot be made, Leetchi will have to cancel the money pot. All contributors will then be reimbursed for the amount of their donations.
*: Our platform is supervised by the Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR), whose role is to monitor the activities of financial institutions. (e.g. banks, insurance companies, payment and electronic money institutions).
